Fallen Hero

Cory Kosters

The Crossroads Family mourns the loss of one of our own, Pfc. Cory C. Kosters, who died during combat with five other U.S. soldiers in Samarra, Iraq, on March 5, 2007. We extend our deepest sympathy to Marlon and Senta Kosters, and Kevin, in the loss of their son and brother.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, 3/18/07 at 4-7 p.m. in the Crossroads Main Worship Center.

Funeral Service will be Monday, 3/19/07 at 10 a.m. in the Main Worship Center (Crossroads members are asked to park off site at Faith Community Church's parking lot - shuttle will run from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.)

Following the service, the processional will travel down Research Forest to Interstate-45. The Woodlands Community Association has given approval for people to line the street between Crossroads and I-45 and wave their flags in honor of Cory as the processional passes. The Association will be contacting other entities in The Woodlands to spread the word. Other churches in the area have also been contacted.

Interment will be at the National Cemetery at 10410 Veteran's Memorial Drive, Houston.

The family has set up a college scholarship in Cory's name. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cory Kosters Memorial Scholarship Fund at any Woodforest National Bank. Donations may also be made to the Crossroads Baptist Church "United We Build" fund in Cory's memory.

More details can be found in The Houston Chronicle's report or view the KPRC Local 2 News report.

So young :(. It brought tears to my eyes to picture everyone standing on route waving those flags. May God be with that family!
