An open letter to those who seem to think they need to ask me...
"Is this your last one?!"
First of, thank you for your concern. But honestly, unless I ask for your opinion regarding my family size, or if I come to you asking for a hand-out, to baby-sit, to do anything for me or my family, then your opinion is not that important.
However, since you asked, we are open to life. Brendan is the middle child.
Sorry, just had to vent. I am appalled at how many people feel it necessary to bring to my attention how many children I have and then ask the even more rude question of "is this the last one?"

Could you print this on a tee shirt? Or pamphlets, maybe, that I could shove down folks' throats...er, I mean, hand out with a smile and a prayer *ahem* when they inquire?
I considered a maternity shirt last time that would say:
YES!
...we can count
...we know what causes it
...our hands ARE full
...we ARE Catholic
and on the back :
...and who asked you anyhow?!
Dh said the last part would be rude. Humph.
:)
Good answer Karen....I get the same feeling when other's try to convince me that I want them. It is not that I do not want them, I am fully aware that children are a blessing of the Lord, but I have never felt that urge in my soul to have them. I used to pray about it feeling something must be wrong.
Then Lord said to me Jer.29:11..."I know what I'm doing. I have it all planned out--plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for."
So, it is for me to trust. If he gives me kids, great! If he doesn't that is ok too....God is in control and my conscience...no one else.
Andie,
I was thinking after I posted this that it probably wasn't very charitable, but I am going to leave it up anyway.
I loved looking at your blog! I'll be visiting often! We seem to have a similar thought process! Scary....
that should have read "thought processes"... uuuggghhh morning is here
And just one house down from you we get the total opposite. When are you going to have another? Aren't you Catholic? Surely you are going to have more than one.
And I like to answer with, "We would love to have more but I can't seem to fit that into my running schedule."

did you get this?
"Are these ALL yours?" I hear it everyday. Looking for good comebacks, my dad suggested, "Yes, but these are just the youngest ones!" After years of searching, I still have not come up with any good retorts...the kind that leave them wondering whether you were being rude or not. Oh well.
